The significant influence on skiing development in the area of Poland before the I World War had the people from the Krakow circle. In the discussed period there were two significant associations which played the important role, namely The Tatras Association of Skiers and the Skiing Section of Academic Sports Association. Both organizations developed their fray activity in the field of tourism, training and popularisation. The activity had a great influence on skiing development on the Polish areas. After the I World War both associations reactivated their activities and became one of the five associations-the founders of the Polish Skiing Association.
