Gymnastic Society “Sokół” was formed in Jasło in 1887 and it was the first organization of physical culture in the town. Skiing came to existence in gymnastic societies as a form outside recreation but later on it turned into the leading sport. Teachers of local primary school were the main organizators of this skiing sport in “Sokół”. The greatest sport successes were gained by sportsmen in ‘Falcon’ in the XX century during 3 days’ walks. It was like that because the most important activity in the association was connected with sport which could be needed in the possibility of II WW (skiing was one of this). It can be said that actually the whole ski movement in this region was located in the local “Sokół” and ‘Falcon’ in Jasło played a significant role in popularizing skiing in the region of southeast Little Poland.
